Visiting the Elderly

Our Little Gem’s visit a local residential care-home to share home-made food hampers and perform some special festive songs. The Little Gem’s community came together to donate the food and prepare hampers and cards using recycled materials and lots of imagination! The care-home residents and staff really enjoy the children’s performance, and the children experience the importance of demonstrating care, love and respect for our older generation within our local community. By focusing energy on personalising the gift hampers and spending time to prepare them and decorate them, we are further reinforcing goal #12 -- responsible consumption and waste, and by encouraging the act of giving to the elderly community we are refining the acts of selflessness and compassion.
