Garden Project: Research

A big part of our goal this year it so find out where things come from, how they are made and how much do we really need to use in order to fulfil our survival needs. As part of our ongoing project (Goal 12 – Sustainable consumption and production) we visited our nearby flower shop Cosmea Gardens. We were shown around the shop and discover the different types of flowers, plants and trees we can find in Cyprus, as well as ones that are brought in from other countries. We find out that the majority of items found there are imported which opened the discussion about the cost of bringing in plants -- financially and physically. After discussing the process of having to import all those plants we decide to find local trees and herbs and plant them at school! Hopefully, this means that we will soon have our own fruit and herbs to enjoy!
